From where I live it is 5 miles though off road canyons to get to the sea. You can do that without going on the road. It's a great trip through the beauty of California. But then you have the problem of climbing 500 feet back home. So here is the solution ...

The 1HP engine is quite powerful enough to get up some major hills. 

Apart from some tire damage it gets up most things with a little peddling.

The 4 stroke engine is very quite and actually meets CA emissions requirements.
